The statue on the bridge over the "Tiefenbach" stream is diagonally opposite "Haus Witschen" dates from 1763,presumed made in a workshop in the neighbouring village of "Oberbettingen".
On the left hand side of the base , Johan Michael Bauer(1707 1779) -the "financer" of the statue, had the following inscription added.: on studying the inscription one notices that some of the letters are larger. “HANC STATUAM FUNDA / TOR IOH. MICH. BAUR / EREXIT IN LOCO QUI / DICTITUR
IOHANNESBRUEKE / SUPRA VICUM ANNO DOMINI”
On studying the inscription one notices that some of the letters are larger. These are roman numerical figures which tell, in correct order, the date of making; so called chronogram: MDCCLXIII = 1763).
